Elenia is committed to the good lobbying practice and participates in the Transparency Register

Elenia has submitted its first report to the national Transparency Register maintained by the National Audit Office of Finland. The purpose of the Transparency Register, which entered into force in early 2024, is to increase the transparency of decision-making in the Parliament, the Government and ministries by registering the lobbying activities targeted at them. The Transparency Register is based on the principle that all parties who influence social decision-making are subject to regulation.

Lobbying reporting was now carried out for the first time. The report was submitted by the end of August and covered the period from 1 April to 30 June 2024. From now on, reporting will be carried out twice a year, the next time in January–February 2025 for lobbying measures during the period from 1 July to 31 December 2024.

“We are also committed to the good lobbying principles, with regard to which the Advisory Board of the Finnish Transparency Register has drawn up recommendations to promote a good lobbying culture in Finland. From the very beginning, we have made a public commitment to comply with these recommendations,” says Elenia’s CEO Jorma Myllymäki.
