Elenia chosen as Best Distribution Brand in global energy industry competition

Distribution system operator Elenia has been chosen as the Best Distribution Brand in the global CHARGE Energy Branding Conference held in Reykjavik, Iceland. The winners were chosen based on a panel of experts, a consumer survey and the results of an independent analysis. The panel included 40 experts in and around the energy space, branding experts and corporate consultants, who named a list of brands they considered deserving being considered as the best energy brands in the world. After a careful screening process, nominees were asked to make their case on why they are deserving being considered the best in the world.
“We would like to thank our customers and all the people at Elenia for this significant recognition. We listen to our customers with care and respect. Among other things, our customers have actively contributed to the development of our digital services. The competition involved a customer survey conducted in Finnish, which gained responses from almost a thousand of our customers. As soon as we have access to the results, we will be sure to delve into the feedback to further improve our services,” says CEO of Elenia Tapani Liuhala.
“Occupations in the energy industry require a high level of expertise. We work determinedly to develop and reform our services. Over the span of nearly six years, we have invested already €600 million in a weatherproof electricity network to improve the security of electricity supply. At the same time, we have developed our digital and phone services. This has called for an enormous amount of work from our large network of partners, who also deserve credit for this international recognition,” Liuhala adds.
The international CHARGE Energy Branding Conference and the attendant CHARGE Awards Brand Competition were held in Reykjavik, Iceland for the second time. The event gathered energy industry representatives and influencers from all over the world. The transition of the energy industry has challenged the field to delve deeper into customers’ and society’s awareness of the significant changes taking place in the industry. As a result, the energy industry is reinforcing its branding to best serve its customers and society.
This year, 23 brands were chosen as finalists in the CHARGE Awards in six different categories: Best Established Brand, Best Challenger Brand, Best Green Brand, Best Transmission Brand, Best Distribution Brand and Best Product Brand. The contenders were evaluated on the basis of a number of factors, including the type of solutions the company offers its customers and how it stands out from the other contenders in its category.
