Electricity connection prices will change on 1 September 2024

Starting from 1 September 2024, Elenia’s electricity network connection zone prices will increase by an average of 10%. The price change includes an increase in value added tax. The price change is due to an update of the Energy Authority’s capacity reservation fee calculation tool.

The capacity reservation fee is included in the connection price and covers the electricity network strengthening costs arising from the construction of new electricity connections. Elenia’s capacity reservation fees are based on a calculator specified by the Energy Authority. The Energy Authority updated its calculator this year. The latest update before that was made in 2020, when Elenia’s most common connection prices decreased by an average of 30%.

Starting from 1 September 2024, the State’s value added tax rate will increase to 25.5%. The connection prices include VAT. Electricity connections are priced on a zone basis depending on location. The price also depends on the distance to the nearest transformer substation, the main fuse capacity and the required connection capacity.

Zone 1: +13%
Zone 2: +11%
Zone 3: +8.7%
Zone 4: +6.5%

The capacity reservation fee for the medium-voltage network’s 20 kV production connections will increase by approximately 9%.
